Qmax where standards are set; not matched.

Qmax was founded by two electronics engineers, Mr. Robert Ng and Mr. S.R. Sabapathi in May, 1992. They started Qmax with an intention to continue a career dream to build a world class test equipment company.

They missed an opportunity earlier to do so with another company being bought out by a group of investors.

The Qmax Group of companies comprises of Qmax Technologies Pte. Ltd., based in Singapore, Qmax Test Equipments Pvt. Ltd., Qmax Test Technologies Pvt. Ltd., based in Madras, India and Qtech Technologies Ltd., based in Hongkong and Beijing, China.

Qmax Technologies in Singapore is the company headquarters and handles all international sales and support. At present, Qmax has 12 distributors in various countries such as the USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Egypt and Russia. Initially in Singapore, it marketed through a distributor but recently it decided to sell directly in order to provide better services to the end-users.

Qmax Test Equipments, based in Madras, India, wholly owns R&D and production arm of the Qmax Group. It has a team of 33 hardware and software engineers dedicated to the development of Qmax range of functional test equipment.

Qmax Test Technologies is the marketing arm of the Qmax Group in India. It has offices in New Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Calcutta and Madras and has a team of 26 sales engineers based in the five cities.

Qtech is a Qmax joint venture company with a local Chinese company to market the Qmax range of products in China. It has a marketing and support team of 6 people and an office in Beijing.

Qmax has a paid capital of more than S$981,182 and one of the shareholders is TDF, a venture arm of the National Science and Technology Board of the Government of Singapore. TDF owns 8% of Qmax shares.

Mr. Robert and Mr. Sabapathi are the major shareholders of Qmax. The rest are owned by professionals who also share the dream to build a world class test company from Asia.

Qmax achieved a sales turn over of over S$ 3 million for the Financial Year 1997-98. It has been profitable since 1996 and plans to go for Initial Placement Offer in the year 2003. The dream is to build the Asian 'HP'.

Mr. Robert Ng is the company Managing Director and CEO. Mr. S.R. Sabapathi is the Technical Director. Both are trained engineers. Mr. Robert received his B.Eng. with Honors degree from Sheffield University in the UK in 1979 and Mr. Sabapathi received his B.Eng. with First Class Honors degree from Madurai Kamaraj University in India. Together their diverse experience in product development and board repairs enable them to build the company to be the leader in the field of PCB repair and testing.

In 1996, Qmax was granted Patent rights by the US and the UK patent offices for the development of the BUS Cycle Signature method for its real time testing of CPU based boards. This is a significant step for, it now enable Qmax to provide a test solution for those with a need to test PCBs with CPU and custom ICs under in-circuit conditions with the need to write tedious functional test programs.

Qmax's present range of products includes the QT25 ( a short circuit locator); QT75 ( a low cost VI trace system ); QT100X ( a entry level PCB repair system); QT150 ( a MDA type system); QT200 ( a mixed signal functional tester); QT300 ( a Real time functional tester for CPU based boards); QT8200 ( an 8MHz mixed signal functional tester); QT2128 ( Combination Board Tester - ATE ); Panther ( an Ultra fast Open/Short tester). The test speed of Panther is 0.5 µ second / test pin (still a wonder for the competitors, since the prevailing speed in the industry is at 2 milli seconds / test pin combination).

The QT200 system is one of the best PCB diagnostic systems in the world. It has been used by 8 military organizations around the world for the maintenance of their PCBs. Companies like GEC-Marconi in the UK, Samsung, Hyundai, Canon and NEC are QT200 users. 3M, ST Technologies, SIA, SMRT and the Ministry of Defense are users of Qmax test systems in Singapore. Qmax is the approved test house for Western Digital Inc fca suppliers.

The large marketing and support team in Madras can be used for international duties when required. The ability of the software team to develop the powerful diagnostic software is evident in the very user friendly and comprehensive features found. The test library of 18,400 devices is the largest found in any functional test system in the world.

Mr. Robert in full swing - Demo mood

Qmax QT-2128, a combination board tester - ATE

Qmax, after the successful launch of its 8 MHz speed Mixed Signal In-Circuit Functional Tester, QT8200, has acheived yet another mile stone in the development and release of the world's most economical and powerful ATE, QT-2128, which has many features including FACTRON source code compatability. QT-2128 provides a compatible test platform for Schlumberger 635, 645 and 700 series tester.

It must be emphasized strongly that Qmax believes in providing the best support possible for its product. There are over 1,000 Qmax test systems had been installed all over the world in the last 8 years.
